3rd and 4th class engineers!

We had great fun during science this week. We were working in groups as engineers. We had to construct a tall structure using spaghetti and marshmallows. It was a bit tricky to keep the structures stable!  We realised we had to have a strong foundation! Teacher measured the structures at the end, the tallest one was 40cm high! Who knows …in the future, some of us may become engineers!

Seachtain na Gaeilge

Published by under Uncategorized

We are having great fun in school this week!

As part of our ‘Seachtain na Gaeilge’ activities we will have a céilí in the hall on Friday. Each class is learning an Irish dance or a cluiche clós (play-ground game) , which they will perform for all the other classes to see! Children and teachers will be decked-out in ‘green’ on the day!

The older classes are learning a ‘seanfhocal’  each day and we will have a ‘tráth na gceist’ (quiz) on Friday. Is breá linn an Ghaeilge!

Beannachtaí na Féile Pádraig daoibh go léir!

Trócaire Bun Sale!

Today , Tuesday March 6th, we had a rice krispie bun sale in school. Ms.Rigney’s 3rd and 4th class made yummy chocolate rice krispie buns at home. They set up their stall in the gym and every child in the school got a delicious bun and a drink of juice for €1. All the money raised goes to Trócaire as part of their Lenten campaign. It is also part of our Green Schools programme where we learn about Global Citizenship and how we can help those who are less well-off than we are. We raised €235 !! Thank you and well done to everyone for supporting such a worthy cause.
