Weather and Climate Change

Published by under 3rd & 4th Class

Today 3rd class made rain gauges as part of a lesson on weather and climate change. We used plastic bottles and made cm measures. We placed our rain gauges securely in the court yard weighted with stones. We will record weather data including rainfall over 5 days after Halloween. Have a look at some of our pictures..

Irish History Live

Published by under 3rd & 4th Class

Today Ms.Rigney’s 3rd and 4th class  went to Athlone library to see History coming to life.

Mrs.Dunne came along too.

A man called Michael Moylan presented the work-shop. He was excellent. We had great fun learning all about the Vikings and Normans.

We got to dress up in costumes and armour from the Viking and Norman era’s. We played with swords, shields, helmets and  bows and arrows. We handled lots of artefacts from that period in History. We really enjoyed the trip and learned lots of interesting facts. The librarian gave us a book-mark and sweets when we were leaving.

Have a look at our photos and see History coming to life.

Thanks to Ms.Leydon for organising the trip.
